Our Work
Featured Projects
A selection of custom homes that reflect SMITHWRIGHT’s approach to
design-driven construction in Sandpoint and throughout North Idaho.
Built in close collaboration with architects and design teams, these projects bring together
distinctive settings, thoughtful architecture, and carefully executed details. Each offers a closer
look at how we carry design intent into the finished home, with the craftsmanship and discipline
that define North of Ordinary.
BASKING MOOSE
Designed by Eerkes Architects and built by SMITHWRIGHT, Basking Moose follows a steep North Idaho hillside with three distinct volumes joined by glass bridges. Dark-stained cedar settles the home into its forested surroundings, while cantilevered decks open toward Lake Pend Oreille and distant mountain
peaks. Inside, cedar ceilings, white oak floors, and a sculptural blackened steel staircase bring warmth and character to this mountain retreat.
THE EDGE
Designed by Apollo Design Studios and built by SMITHWRIGHT, The Edge is a modern mountain retreat at The Idaho Club. A 14-foot entry door opens to a pavilion-style living area, where expansive walls of windows frame Lake Pend Oreille and Schweitzer Mountain, and a two-story fireplace anchors the gathering space. When the owners aren’t enjoying The Edge themselves, they welcome guests to experience the home as a vacation rental.
WHAT DO YOU ENVISION FOR YOUR HOME?
Every project begins with a conversation about the place, the possibilities, and how you want to
live. Tell us what you’re planning, and let’s explore how Smithwright can help bring it to life.
